How do you calculate your fees for a new project? Best guess? What you did last time plus a bit?
Do you struggle to decide what to charge clients for your services?
Do you feel you always do much more work on a job than you’re being paid for?
This webinar will demonstrate how to establish a rate for the work that designers do and how work to ensure you charge appropriately.
The objective of this talk is to give you confidence and tools to improve your approach to quoting design work.
It will work through several methods that might be used to set the revenue earned on a project: from the quick, through to some more robust methods.
Different projects may require different approaches or resources and a range of pricing methods can be useful to appreciate the best way to manage work and therefore charge.
Additional income streams will also be discussed: what aspects of a project, other than design that might be charged (plants, hard landscaping materials, additional services).
Topics covered:
Calculating your efficiency and running costs
The hourly rate
Quick methods to estimate a project’s potential
Repeatable quotation methods
Working collaboratively
Work schedules
Getting paid
What to do about bad debtors
Revenue streams other than design
Every design practice is different, but a comprehensive, repeatable quotation system is critical to maintain a healthy business and competitive position.
The sample spreadsheets used in this training session will be issued to attendees.
