Ecologically Informed Planting – The Design Process

Designing ecologically informed herbaceous planting schemes involves a lot of plant knowledge, but there is more to it than that. In this course we will focus on the design process. How exactly do we move from a site analysis to a finished design. The final output of the process is an excel spreadsheet rather than a conventional planting plan. If you haven’t tried the excel method for designing naturalistic herbaceous planting schemes this will be a good introduction. As with all my courses it'll run over two half day sessions. One session covers the theory, then you'll have a week to apply the theory and we'll discuss your own designs in the second session. These second sessions are always very enjoyable, informative and engaging; hearing from and sharing experiences with people from all over the country. Please allow for some time to do the small design exercise between sessions.
