The SGD Student Awards 2020 have been decided with eight finalists selected across two award categories - Commercial Design and Domestic Design.

The finalists were chosen by SGD member Debbie Roberts MSGD from Acres Wild, Dr Phil Askew, Director of Landscape & Placemaking at Peabody and SGD Chair, Sarah Morgan MSGD.

Overall the judges felt the standard of work was very high this year, as demonstrated by the number of student projects shortlisted and discussed. They were pleased to see that feedback from previous years had been addressed well with students providing more visual site context information and presenting as much as possible graphically.

The judges also remarked on the excellent quality of the graphic presentations which they said were 'especially impressive when the style and character of the plan was taken right through to the 3D visuals, creating a cohesive and comprehensive package.'

The winners of both awards will be revealed alongside the winners of the main award categories at the SGD Awards Ceremony on Friday 31 January 2020.
